The fifth in the series of Bauernmaleri books, is a lighthearted look at some of the flowers and colors that make up the traditional folk art of Austria. Not indepth but a compilation of some of her favorite flowers and motifs. The Austrian style of painting is characterized by wet on dry painting method instead of the ususal wet on wet style of Germany. Most often the flowers are smoothly basecoated with a single color and dried before the next layer. No double loading and such. A more primitve style and the author says perhaps easier and more relaxing as you don't have to rush before paint dries.
